Short Bio

Oil Painter and Colorist, 29, Italy

Statement

My name is Giacomo Tuand. I am an oil painter who creates my own colors from pure pigments. I came to New York to immerse myself in the contemporary art scene and to become a part of it. My art does not stem from a desire to create beauty, but rather from anger, which I channel onto my canvases. Another theme I explore in my work, one that I prefer not to discuss and instead express through my art, is death. Through my pieces, I narrate my experiences and thoughts on difficult subjects that people often avoid discussing. I find myself constantly addressing these topics with a paintbrush in hand.

My goal is to create works that leave a lasting impression on viewers. I want them to remember what they see on my canvases, to be left with a thought, a doubt, or even a sense of disgust. Anything but the indifference of a simple “How beautiful.”
